Knock at the Cabin, M. Night Shyamalan’s adaptation of Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World, is heading to theaters this Friday. To celebrate the occasion, Universal Pictures has released a few videos about the movie, including some commentary by one of the film’s stars, Dave Bautista.

Before we get into it, here’s the brief official summary of the film, which is similar to the premise of Tremblay’s novel:

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

The first one, which you can check out above, is a “look inside” the movie, where Shyamalan talks about how he likes to tell “large stories through a small window,” which sums up the conceit of the film quite nicely. Rupert Grint, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Bautista also talk about the film here, with Grint saying the movie combines his two nightmares: the Apocalypse and home invasion!

The video right above focuses on Bautista’s character, Leonard, with the actor talking about how the role is the opportunity of lifetime for him. Shyamalan also praises Bautista for embodying Leonard, who he describes as “a giant, physically intimidating [who] has to do these horrific things but is actually incredibly gentle, like a teacher.”

Last and inarguably least, there’s a commercial starring Shyamalan clearing spoofing his film. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Knock on the Cabin premieres in theaters this Friday, February 3, 2023.
